On December 1, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) convened a symposium with leading manufacturers in the power and energy storage battery sector. The meeting focused on standardizing industry competition and promoting high-quality development, gathering insights and suggestions from participating enterprises. Li Lecheng, Party Secretary and Minister of MIIT, attended and delivered remarks.

Representatives from 12 key industry players, including BYD's Chairman Wang Chuanfu, CATL Vice Chairman Li Ping, CALB Chairman Liu Jingyu, EVE Energy Chairman Liu Jincheng, and Sunwoda Group Founder Wang Mingwang, discussed operational challenges, R&D progress, market competition, and intellectual property protection. Other attendees included executives from Tianci Materials, BTR New Material, Trina Storage, Gotion High-Tech, Hithium, Ronbay Technology, and Yunnan Energy New Material.

Minister Li Lecheng emphasized the need to objectively assess industry trends and implement central government directives to curb "cutthroat competition." He outlined plans for targeted policies, capacity monitoring, quality inspections, and crackdowns on IP violations. The ministry will guide companies in rational capacity planning and orderly global expansion to foster sustainable growth.

Li urged firms to uphold entrepreneurial spirit, avoid irrational competition, and collaborate to maintain a healthy market. He called for increased innovation, R&D investment, and supply chain coordination to enhance competitiveness. Industry associations were tasked with strengthening self-regulation and promoting win-win ecosystems. MIIT pledged to advance the sector through "15th Five-Year Plan" initiatives, technological support, and modernized governance frameworks.
