On April 30, Haidian District held a conference to celebrate International Workers' Day, during which the sixth "Haidian Craftsman Cup" Vocational Skills Competition was officially launched. The competition is closely aligned with the development needs of new quality productive forces and features multiple cutting-edge technology tracks. This year, Haidian District received one National May Day Labor Certificate, two National May Day Labor Medals, and two National Worker Pioneer accolades. Among the honorees, Xiong Yongchang, principal of Beijing 101 Middle School, has leveraged artificial intelligence to reshape educational models, guiding students through chip tape-outs and nurturing "young researchers" to decode the essence of education through technological algorithms. The ground-cloud algorithm team at BDStar Navigation has broken through several "bottleneck" technologies, achieving a leap from following to leading in the high-precision positioning field. At the event, the digital agent "Haixiaojiang" collaborated with Haidian's skilled talents to perform a scenario play titled "Haidian Craftsman College—A Journey from 0 to ∞." The play, supported by technology from national labor model and voice technology expert Jia Lei and his team, showcased the transformation of Haidian workers into "digital craftsmen." It was noted that Zhongguancun Software Park has been designated a "Capital Craftsman College," establishing a full-chain talent cultivation system. In 2026, Xiaomi Craftsman College was formally established, becoming Beijing's first craftsman training platform led by a technology company. The newly launched sixth "Haidian Craftsman Cup" Vocational Skills Competition includes innovative tracks such as "Robotics Engineering Technician," "AI Trainer," and "Information Security Tester," precisely addressing the talent demands for building an artificial intelligence hub. A representative from the Haidian District Trade Union stated that the "Haidian Craftsman Cup" consistently focuses on, serves, and empowers workers, providing a ladder for skill enhancement and career advancement through platforms like the competition and Haidian Craftsman College. Moving forward, digital transformation within the trade union will enable precise profiling of craftsmen talents, offering data support for the personalized cultivation of highly skilled professionals.
