NVIDIA and South Korea's SK Group are expected to announce their collaborative plans on Monday. The head of the American chipmaker indicated that the current tight supply of memory chips is likely to persist for several more years.

A spokesperson for SK hynix confirmed that Chairman Chey and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang are scheduled to present the cooperation plan to the media on Monday morning, which corroborates earlier reports from Korean media.

Jensen Huang separately stated that NVIDIA will make a joint announcement with the SK Group on Monday.

He told reporters, "Our collaboration spans multiple areas, including AI supercomputers, central processing units, new personal computers, and robotics. This meeting is to finalize the related plans, and we may announce the specifics tomorrow." He did not disclose further details.

Huang also pointed out that there are no immediate signs of relief for the memory chip shortage.

"The entire industry's supply chain, from wafers and packaging to silicon photonics modules, is insufficient, primarily due to persistently high market demand. This tight situation will continue for years."

During this meeting, Huang, along with Chairman Chey, the CEO of SK hynix, and other SK Group executives, held discussions over a Korean-style fried chicken and beer meal at a restaurant in Seoul.
