Wuxi Breaks Through the Ranks

On the fifth day of the National Day holiday, another kind of "rhythm" by the shores of Taihu Lake never paused for a moment. The symphonic version of "Above the Moon" has been dubbed by netizens as the "Guanghan Palace Formation-Breaking Song," and its magnificent movements are just like Wuxi's century-long industrial transformation 鈥?from the clatter of looms first sounding at the Yeqin Cotton Mill, to the rumbling hum of motors at the steel rolling plant, and now to the faint buzzing of robotic arms rising and falling with precision in research laboratories. The shifts between these different timbres bear witness to this century-old industrial and commercial city standing at the forefront of the times with the posture of breaking through the ranks.

Rockets Piercing the Sky, Resounding Through the Clouds

Wuxi, situated by the banks of the canal, is not only about small bridges, flowing streams, and poetic charm 鈥?it also holds the lofty ambition of reaching for the skies and chasing dreams. If traditional industry is a resounding echo deeply rooted in the solid earth, then commercial aerospace is Wuxi's sound of breaking through the void as it pursues dreams across the universe and races toward the heavens.

On July 10, the first stage of the Long March 10B carrier rocket was successfully recovered, achieving the world's first sea-based net recovery of a carrier rocket, marking a key "from 0 to 1" breakthrough for China in the field of reusable rocket technology. A cryogenic check valve independently developed by an enterprise in Jiangyin was successfully applied to the launch tower and core equipment at the base, providing hardware support for the launch mission.

On August 19, the Zhuque-3 reusable Y2 carrier rocket lifted off, and its first stage landed successfully according to the predetermined procedure, making it China's first carrier rocket to successfully enter orbit and achieve land recovery. The grid fins produced by an enterprise in Xishan stabilized the "steering wheel" for the reusable rocket during its return phase.

On September 17, the "Xinglianti Tianyuan YG01 Satellite," jointly developed by Wuxi Xinglianti and Tianyi Space, successfully entered orbit, becoming the first SAR remote sensing satellite of Wuxi's Tianyuan low-orbit sensing computing constellation.

One after another, the roars piercing the sky are not only a testament to the rapid development of China's commercial aerospace industry but also the best footnote to Wuxi's industrial iteration. Once, Wuxi's industrial story was written among canal docks and old factory buildings. Now, this veteran industrial and commercial city has broken boundaries, pushed upward to break through, and extended its industrial map from the ground to the stars. The solid foundation of traditional industry, combined with the innovative vitality of cutting-edge aerospace, has enabled Wuxi to forge a unique path of scientific and technological advancement amid the tides of the times.

Between the Milli and the Micro, Everything Is Contained

While commercial aerospace opens up future tracks, Wuxi is also deeply cultivating core scientific and technological fields such as integrated circuits and artificial intelligence. With the sound of supremely refined scientific innovation, it consolidates the foundation of the real economy and allows new quality productive forces to take root on the front lines of industry. Inside smart factories, robotic arms rise and fall with precise grasping; in cleanrooms, automated equipment hums steadily. These quiet yet powerful sounds are a vivid portrayal of the city's scientific innovation industry growing vigorously.

In the digital age, the iterative innovation of artificial intelligence and embodied intelligent robots all depends on a tiny chip as the core foundation. A silicon wafer that appears to be only the size of a milli carries massive data computation, controls the precise responses of smart devices, and supports the continuous optimization and upgrading of large AI models. Relying on its solid industrial foundation, Wuxi continues to increase investment in computing infrastructure and open up a complete closed loop from "chip production to computing power supply to scenario application."

At the same time, it continues to deepen its efforts in the integrated circuit track and has now formed a full-chain industrial ecosystem covering chip design, wafer manufacturing, packaging and testing, and equipment and materials. The completeness of the industrial chain and the degree of industrial clustering firmly rank among the top in the country. On September 29, the high-end advanced packaging and testing project of JCET and the Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratory of High-Density Optical and Electronic Microsystem Integration were successively established in Wuxi. One heavily reinforces advanced packaging; the other builds a provincial-level laboratory to directly tackle source innovation in "bottleneck" technologies. This will further promote the deep integration of the innovation chain and the industrial chain and help the high-quality development of the integrated circuit industry across the province and the entire country.

This National Day, we saw the fireworks throughout the city, and we also heard the sound of this city growing upward. Grounded in a century of industrial heritage and deeply cultivating cutting-edge scientific innovation tracks, Wuxi's industrial voice continues to advance through the changing years, growing ever clearer and more resounding. From canal looms to the vast galaxy, Wuxi, with the momentum of breaking through the ranks, sets off toward its next expedition.
