Russia's Defense Ministry reported on the evening of the 23rd that between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM Moscow time, its air defense forces intercepted and shot down 269 Ukrainian drones across multiple regions, including Arkhangelsk Oblast, Belgorod Oblast, Bryansk Oblast, and the Moscow area.

The day prior, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in a video interview that Ukrainian armed forces had continuously attacked Russian civilian and logistics infrastructure with missiles and drones over the past 40 days. He characterized this as "another gamble" by Ukraine and its Western backers, aimed at inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia. Putin added that Russian forces are not only advancing on all fronts but also intensifying their offensive, expressing confidence in achieving the objectives of the special military operation.
