NIO Inc. (NIO-SW) has issued a statement addressing its recent inclusion on a list maintained by the U.S. Department of Defense. The company noted it has been added to the Pentagon's "Chinese Military Companies" (CMC) list.

The firm asserts that its inclusion on this roster is without a valid basis. NIO Inc. clarified that it is neither a Chinese military enterprise nor a contributor to the military-civil fusion development of China's defense industrial base.

It is important to note that the CMC list is distinct from a sanctions list. The restrictions associated with it pertain specifically to U.S. government procurement and are not expected to impact NIO Inc.'s business operations. Furthermore, the listing does not impose any restrictions on the trading of the company's securities.

NIO Inc. has stated its intention to actively engage with the U.S. Department of Defense to seek a resolution for its inclusion on the list. This may involve pursuing legal action if necessary, with the goal of protecting the interests of the company and its shareholders.
