Postal Savings Bank's Datong Branch Fined 60,000 Yuan for Violating Counterfeit Currency Regulations

On April 8, financial authorities disclosed that the Datong City branch of the Postal Savings Bank of China in Shanxi Province has been penalized for failing to comply with regulations on counterfeit currency handling. According to an administrative penalty decision published by the People's Bank of China Datong City Branch, the bank was issued a warning and fined 60,000 yuan.

The penalties were imposed due to two violations: not confiscating counterfeit currency as required and failing to submit seized counterfeit notes to the local branch of the People's Bank of China in accordance with regulations.

The administrative penalty decision, numbered Tong Yin Fa Jue Zi [2026] No. 1, was issued on April 2, 2026, by the People's Bank of China Datong City Branch. The penalty will remain on record for one year from the date of publication.
