Wai Chun Biotec has announced that it will miss the 30 September 2026 deadline for releasing its audited financial results for the year ended 30 June 2026. The postponement stems from additional time required by both the company and its external auditor to complete outstanding audit procedures. A new publication timetable is still under discussion.
Under Hong Kong Listing Rule 13.49(1), issuers must release annual results within three months of the fiscal year-end. Failure to do so also threatens timely dispatch of the FY 2026 annual report, which is due by 31 October 2026 in accordance with Rule 13.46(2). Management acknowledges that any slippage would constitute a breach of listing requirements.
Given the unresolved audit, the board has opted not to publish unaudited management accounts, citing concerns that such information might mislead investors. The company stresses that day-to-day operations remain unaffected.
If the audited results are not announced by 30 September 2026, trading in Wai Chun Biotec shares will be suspended from 9:00 a.m. on 2 October 2026, as stipulated by Listing Rule 13.50. Further updates on the anticipated release of the audited results and the annual report will be provided in due course.
Shareholders and potential investors are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the company’s securities.
