For the month of June 2026, CHINA SHENHUA (ASX: 01088) reported production of commercial coal amounting to 42.7 million tonnes, representing a year-on-year decrease of 1.4%.

Coal sales volume for the same month was 50.5 million tonnes, a decline of 4.9% compared to the corresponding period last year.

For the first six months of the year cumulative commercial coal production reached 250 million tonnes, down 3.6% year-on-year.

However, total coal sales volume for the January to June period stood at 300.2 million tonnes, marking a 1.8% increase compared to the first half of the previous year.

The company stated that its production and operational performance remained stable and positive during the first half of 2026.

Key operational metrics for its transportation, power generation, and coal chemical businesses all showed year-on-year growth.

The increase in shipping freight volume was primarily attributed to a rise in downstream coal demand compared to the same period last year.

The growth in oil product sales was mainly due to a lower base in the prior-year period, which was impacted by a shutdown for process upgrades at the coal-to-oil production facility.

Similarly, the rise in ethylene glycol sales was driven by comparatively lower production volumes in the same period last year.
