Shares of 10x Genomics, Inc. (TXG) experienced a sharp 5.00% decline in post-market trading, reflecting a negative investor reaction to the company's second-quarter financial results. While headline results exceeded analyst estimates, a deeper look revealed a significant year-over-year contraction in revenue and a shift from profitability to a net loss, triggering selling pressure.

The company reported Q2 revenue of $151.0 million, down 12.6% from $172.9 million a year ago, and a net loss of $17.9 million, swinging from earnings of $0.28 per share in the prior-year period. Although the reported loss of $0.14 per share beat consensus estimates of a $0.24 loss, and revenue exceeded the $146.8 million forecast, the fundamental deterioration in top-line growth and the profit-to-loss reversal weighed heavily on sentiment. Operating expenses also climbed 39% to $132.1 million, further compressing margins.

10x Genomics raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to a range of $610 million to $630 million, up from $600 million to $625 million, citing strong early order flow for its Atera product. However, this raised outlook was insufficient to offset immediate concerns over the quarterly contraction, leading to the post-market sell-off.
