A subsidiary of RTX Corp, Pratt & Whitney, has secured a contract valued at nearly $1.3 billion to supply spare parts for the F135 engine that powers the F-35 Lightning II fighter jet.

The company announced on Friday that the agreement will fund initial spare part requirements for the F135 engine during the 2026 fiscal year. It also includes deployable spares packages, base-level inventory, and associated support equipment to assist F-35 operators both domestically and internationally.

While RTX Corp did not specify the awarding entity, defense contracts for the F135 propulsion system are generally managed by the Department of Defense's Naval Air Systems Command.

Chris Johnson, Vice President of the F135 program at Pratt & Whitney, stated, "This contract will help strengthen our global support network, ensuring operators worldwide can continue to rely on the unmatched performance of the F135."
