Chaoju Eye Care commits RMB80 million to Bank of China wealth product; aggregated RMB340 million placements trigger discloseable status

Chaoju Eye Care Holdings Limited announced that on 29 April 2026 its indirect wholly-owned unit, Chaoju Medical Technology, subscribed for RMB80.00 million in an “Institutional Exclusive” structured deposit—Anxiang Tiantian—offered by Bank of China Wealth Management Co., Ltd. (BOCWM).

The wealth management product carries a non-principal-guaranteed, floating return with an annualised performance benchmark of 1.80%–2.50%. The product has no fixed maturity, follows a T+1 redemption cycle, and is classified by BOCWM as medium-to-low risk, giving the Group flexibility to withdraw funds according to operating needs.

Together with the RMB260.00 million placed on 1 April 2026 in a similar product issued by Bank of China (BOC), Chaoju’s cumulative outlay in BOC-related wealth products now totals RMB340.00 million. Under Hong Kong’s Listing Rules, transactions with BOC and its wholly owned subsidiaries are aggregated; the combined size means the subscriptions exceed the 5% asset ratio threshold but remain below 25%, constituting a discloseable transaction subject to reporting and announcement requirements, while exempt from shareholder approval.

Management stated the deployment is funded entirely by surplus operating cash rather than proceeds from the company’s Hong Kong IPO. The objective is to enhance treasury returns, as the expected yields exceed standard PRC bank deposit rates, while maintaining sufficient liquidity. Internal controls are said to be in place to ensure the investments do not impair day-to-day working capital.

Chaoju Eye Care operates 31 ophthalmic hospitals and 32 optical centres across seven mainland provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, positioning it as a leading eye-care service provider in North China.
