Recently, the Market Supervision and Administration Bureau of Zhuolu County, Hebei Province, organized a team of professional law enforcement personnel and metrological verification technicians to carry out a specialized supervision and inspection of measurement medical equipment in use at medical institutions within its jurisdiction, including the County Hospital, Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and Guoren Hospital. This inspection was strictly conducted in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, such as the "Metrology Law," and technical specifications. It employed a combination of on-site verification, ledger checks, and equipment sampling to comprehensively examine the measurement medical equipment in use across various clinical and medical technology departments of the hospitals. The focus of the inspection centered on key aspects such as the establishment of measurement medical equipment ledgers, the implementation of periodic verifications for mandatory verification instruments, the condition of equipment usage and maintenance, and the execution of management systems. Overall, the inspection revealed that the hospitals place significant emphasis on the management of measurement medical equipment. Most of the equipment in use undergoes periodic verification as required by laws and regulations and is put into service properly, with metrology management systems being generally sound. This specialized inspection has further identified potential risks and hidden dangers in the usage of measurement medical equipment across the hospitals. It has strengthened the awareness of medical institutions regarding their responsibility to use such equipment in compliance with laws and regulations and has enhanced their medical metrology management capabilities. Moving forward, the bureau will continue to intensify its supervision of measurement medical equipment in medical institutions. It aims to establish and improve a regular supervision and inspection mechanism, continuously enhance the accuracy of medical measurements, provide reliable metrological assurance for clinical diagnosis and disease treatment in hospitals, and effectively safeguard public health and safety.
