Bitcoin Pullback Warning Tests Support Levels, Says Analyst

Market commentator Michael Terpin predicted on August 6 that Bitcoin could still retreat to the $40,000 range before its next upward move, adding a cautious scenario to the recent rebound. Price targets carry significant uncertainty, but during periods of sustained volatility, such forecasts serve to remind the market to test support strength rather than being treated as inevitable endpoints.

Whether a deep pullback occurs depends on the combined shifts in spot demand, selling pressure from long-term holders, and macro liquidity. Facing a lower target range, the market should observe whether consecutive trading volume and capital outflows emerge after key cost bases are breached, rather than confirming a new trend prematurely based on a single commentary.

If prices fall but exchange balances do not increase significantly, the market may simply be undergoing range-bound consolidation. However, if leveraged liquidations expand alongside spot selling, the magnitude of the adjustment could deepen. Conversely, sustained buying absorbing supply near key support levels would also reduce the likelihood of a pessimistic scenario materializing.

Capital flows, volatility, and on-chain realized losses over the coming weeks will provide more evidence for direction. Considering multiple possible paths, the value of such predictions lies in establishing risk scenarios, while true judgment must still rely on the mutual confirmation of price action and capital data, with timely adjustments made as market conditions evolve, leaving sufficient room for revision.
