Shares of Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, Inc. (ASX.US) climbed more than 5% on Monday, reaching $26.23. The increase follows the company's recent groundbreaking ceremony for a new facility in the Renwu Industrial Park in Kaohsiung. The total investment for the plant exceeds NT$108.3 billion and will focus on providing advanced semiconductor testing services for areas including artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, 5G communications, and automotive electronics. The first phase of the facility is scheduled to be operational by April 2027, with the second phase commencing operations in October of the same year. The project is expected to generate an annual production value of approximately NT$177.3 billion. According to the company's Chief Operating Officer, 2026 is set to be the largest year for facility construction in the company's history, with a record six new plants planned to break ground simultaneously worldwide.
