On May 27th, representatives from the Guangzhou Municipal Publicity Department and the Tianhe District Publicity Department visited the YUEXIU PROPERTY's Guan Yue project to conduct a field survey on the operations of the Tianhe District Library's Guan Yue Branch. Discussions and guidance were provided on deepening the collaboration between government and enterprise to foster a community culture of reading and enhance the public cultural service network. This initiative exemplifies the government's proactive engagement with businesses through supportive research and the synergistic empowerment of nationwide reading efforts through government-enterprise cooperation. It also serves as a vivid case study of YUEXIU PROPERTY and government departments working together towards building a "Scholarly Tianhe."
In 2026, nationwide reading was included in the Government Work Report for the 13th time, and the first related administrative regulation, the "National Reading Promotion Regulation," officially came into effect in February, marking a new legal framework for reading promotion. In April, the Guangzhou Reading Month, themed "Cultivating the City with Culture, Reading the Future," hosted nearly a thousand events. Concurrently, Tianhe District advanced the construction of scholarly streets and a 10-minute reading circle, encouraging social forces to participate in building public cultural spaces.
Against this backdrop, YUEXIU PROPERTY has embedded libraries within communities, extending reading from urban public facilities to residents' doorsteps. Since May this year, two community libraries have been established in Tianhe District: the Tianhe District Library - Guan Yue Branch and the Tianhe District Library - Yue Jing Tai Branch, setting a benchmark for government-enterprise collaboration in the "Scholarly Tianhe" initiative.
In YUEXIU PROPERTY's planning, the construction and operation of community libraries are integral components of its "Ideal Community" ecosystem. As early as 2018, YUEXIU PROPERTY partnered with Guangzhou Library to establish its first community branch at the YUEXIU PROPERTY's Xing Hui Yun Cheng project, directly introducing the cultural resources of this national first-class library into the community. The recent joint government-enterprise survey of the Tianhe District Library Guan Yue Branch serves as a practical review of YUEXIU PROPERTY's ongoing efforts to enhance community amenities and enrich lives through culture within its "Ideal Community" development.
At the launch event for the 2026 Guangzhou Reading activities, the two community libraries in Tianhe District were unveiled, exploring new pathways for collaborative cultural facility development.
1) Tianhe District Library - Guan Yue Branch: Creating a Scholarly Oasis by the Lake with a "Resident Co-creation" Model On May 9th, the Tianhe District Library - Guan Yue Branch was officially inaugurated at YUEXIU PROPERTY's Guan Yue. The library spans approximately 500 square meters and houses a collection of 15,600 books covering diverse categories such as technology, humanities, lifestyle, and children's literature. Over 8,000 of these are new books, with 30% of the titles sourced from reader recommendations, precisely meeting the reading needs of community families. This approach makes the reading space truly "vibrant" and "functional," establishing a new model for community cultural governance through government-enterprise collaboration and resident participation.
In terms of functional layout, the library features a comprehensive reading area, a children's reading zone, a digital reading area, and a multi-purpose activity room. It is equipped with self-service borrowing and return machines and digital resource lending kiosks. It is also integrated into the city's network of 438 public libraries, allowing borrowing and returns across all locations, ensuring efficient and convenient service. Notably, the Guan Yue Branch incorporates large floor-to-ceiling windows that invite natural light and offer views of the lake area. It is just a two-minute walk from a 53,000-square-meter lake ecological zone, where mountains and water reflect each other amidst greenery, creating a unique experience of "reading amidst lake views, integrating with nature." In the future, the library will regularly host author meet-and-greets, new book sharing sessions, and public cultural classes, transforming reading from a solitary activity into an engaging, shareable part of daily life, continuously enriching community cultural experiences and highlighting YUEXIU PROPERTY's leading role as a responsible state-owned enterprise in cultural co-creation and community building.
2) Tianhe District Library - Yue Jing Tai Branch: Operation-First Approach to Embed Culture in the Community On May 22nd, the Tianhe District Library Yue Jing Tai Branch was officially unveiled, embodying an "open and operational" philosophy by proactively creating warm and content-rich cultural living scenarios for residents. The Yue Jing Tai project adheres to the concept that "handover is merely the completion of space, while community is the symbiosis of emotion and culture." Leveraging the community clubhouse space and through deep collaboration with the Tianhe District Library, reading services were integrated into community planning from the outset. The project also partners with a premium fitness brand, offering a one-stop solution for reading, fitness, and social needs. As a new cultural landmark in the Guangtang area, the Yue Jing Tai Branch uses books as a medium to foster culture and community, facilitating neighborly connections and making spiritual enrichment a daily aspect of community life. This reflects YUEXIU PROPERTY's philosophy that "product is operation" and "community is life."
The successive establishment of these two community libraries in Tianhe District reflects a profound shift in urban living concepts from "space delivery" to "life cultivation." Having a library at one's doorstep makes reading no longer a commute requiring special planning but a daily habit accessible by simply going downstairs or after a meal, significantly lowering the barrier to cultural participation. Behind this transformation, YUEXIU PROPERTY's "resident co-creation" model for library implementation exemplifies the extension of state-owned enterprise responsibility from "hardware delivery" to "life cultivation"—going beyond constructing buildings and providing amenities to actively building cultural platforms that activate the community's internal dynamics.
Government-enterprise collaboration in creating scholarly communities and achieving comprehensive coverage to illuminate the spark of nationwide reading.
1) From Points to Network: Scholarly Bases Spread Across Multiple Districts Introducing libraries into communities is not YUEXIU PROPERTY's first initiative in promoting nationwide reading. In October 2018, YUEXIU PROPERTY partnered with Guangzhou Library to co-create its first community branch—the "Guangzhou Library - Xing Hui Yun Cheng Branch." This branch features five functional areas: social sciences, literature and arts, natural sciences, children's literature, and activities. It initially stocked over 20,000 books and enabled borrowing and returns across the city's library network.
Subsequently, the Guangzhou Library - Pin Xiu Xing Tu Branch and the Panyu District Library YUEXIU PROPERTY's Da Xue · Xing Hui Jin Cheng Branch were established and officially began operations, providing convenient and high-quality public reading services to surrounding residents. In July 2025, the Panyu District Library YUEXIU PROPERTY's Da Xue · Xing Hui Cheng Branch—"Firefly Book Nook"—was officially signed and launched, further expanding the boundaries of community reading and making it more aligned with the lifestyles of younger demographics.
To date, YUEXIU PROPERTY's community libraries have covered multiple districts including Tianhe, Baiyun, Huangpu, and Panyu. Through deep collaboration between government and enterprise and library-enterprise partnerships, a continuous stream of high-quality public cultural resources is being channeled into communities. A citywide community reading network, framed around the "Ideal Community" concept, is gradually unfolding, allowing the fragrance of books to permeate every corner of the city.
2) Government-Enterprise Co-creation Forging an Ideal Model of "Community as Life" Amid the real estate industry's shift towards "full-cycle experiences of a better life," YUEXIU PROPERTY aligns with the trend of complete community development, promoting the transition from space delivery to life cultivation and outlining a vision of "community as life, product as operation, and users as partners." Exemplified by projects like YUEXIU PROPERTY's Guan Yue and Yue Jing Tai, the company implements models of pre-handover operations and resident co-creation, proactively establishing comprehensive amenities including commercial, educational, and sports facilities, and building diverse community scenes around culture and sports, ensuring public infrastructure is actively utilized.
Among these, the construction and operation of community libraries are driving the downward penetration of public resources, elevating living spaces into warm, ideal life communities with a sense of belonging. Under government guidance, YUEXIU PROPERTY, with its state-owned enterprise responsibility, integrates into urban strategy, undertaking the dual mission of upgrading public culture and enhancing community quality. In the future, the company will deepen long-term mechanisms for government-enterprise collaboration, respond to the call for building a scholarly city, create high-quality reading spaces, promote the下沉 of cultural resources into communities, and achieve a leap from "culture benefiting the people" to "culture delighting the people." Simultaneously, using benchmark projects as models, it will continue to improve community public amenities and warm community services, ensuring that the ideal life is not just about residence but is tangibly felt through books, encounters, and daily experiences.
