On June 24th, the "Must-Eat List" from Dianping unveiled its ten-year report card in Shanghai, revealing that a total of 1.55 billion authentic user reviews have contributed to the selection process over the past decade.

"For ten years, we have consistently adhered to a foundation of genuine user reviews, steadfastly resisting commercial influence and completely rejecting any form of manual nomination," stated Tao Xuexuan, Vice President of Meituan and General Manager of the Dianping Business Unit. "The 'Must-Eat List' has never been a ranking we create; it is a list that real diners 'eat' into existence."

Data shows that for the 2026 "Must-Eat List," 130 million diners contributed 400 million authentic reviews, leading to the selection of 4,279 restaurants across 264 cities from a pool of 5 million eligible merchants.
