Golden autumn brings refreshing breezes and the fragrance of ripening rice, marking a critical period for the autumn harvest.
Across the vast farmlands of the county, various harvesting machines shuttle through the fields, their rumbling engines playing a symphony of abundance.
Farmers and planting cooperatives in all townships are seizing the clear weather to carry out grain harvesting, drying, and storage at full capacity, taking multiple measures to ensure a stable and bountiful grain harvest.
Liu Hui, chairman of the Liu Hui Farmers' Planting Cooperative in Bayan County, was heard saying: "It's fine to lower the header a bit more, a bit more is fine..."
At the corn planting plots of the Liu Hui Farmers' Planting Cooperative in Bayan County, the fields presented a scene of bustling and orderly autumn harvesting.
In response to the actual situation of some corn stalks having lodged, the cooperative deployed precisely and seized the farming season, mobilizing multiple large harvesters for concentrated rescue harvesting operations.
Cooperative head Liu Hui stayed on the front lines in the fields, dispatching machinery in real time, coordinating personnel assignments, and scientifically planning harvesting routes to maximize the efficiency of harvesting lodged corn and reduce grain losses.
Guo Yonghai, a member of the Liu Hui Farmers' Planting Cooperative in Bayan County, said: "I've been farming with Liu Hui for six years now. Since we started farming together, lodging hasn't caused yield reductions. In the past, when I farmed on my own, the yield dropped significantly because the stalks would die before harvest time. Farming with Boss Liu, we apply more pesticides and fungicides, so the stalks are still green even now, and that's why there's no yield loss."
It is understood that this year, the Liu Hui Farmers' Planting Cooperative planted a total of 110,000 mu of corn, and the large-scale planting laid a solid foundation for stable grain production and increased income.
However, affected by extreme weather including periodic rain and strong winds, 1,400 mu of corn experienced lodging to varying degrees, posing certain challenges to autumn harvesting and grain output.
Under the guidance of agricultural experts, the cooperative formulated a scientific disaster mitigation and harvest protection plan to safeguard autumn production.
Liu Hui, chairman of the Liu Hui Farmers' Planting Cooperative in Bayan County, said: "After the lodging occurred, we applied fungicides, foliar fertilizers, and insecticides again to ensure the lodged plants wouldn't get diseased and could make full use of light energy, so that the yield would come through."
Currently, autumn harvesting work across the county has been fully launched.
All townships are closely following the farming season, focusing their efforts precisely, coordinating agricultural machinery, manpower, and other harvesting resources, refining autumn harvest measures, efficiently advancing harvesting progress, and making every effort to shore up the bottom line of grain security.
