Singtel's stock fell 3.19% during intraday trading on Thursday, as investors reacted to the company's latest financial results and forward-looking statements.

The telecommunications giant reported an annual underlying net profit of S$2.77 billion, which represented a 12.1% increase from the previous year but missed the Visible Alpha consensus estimate of S$2.82 billion. The earnings shortfall appears to have contributed to the negative market sentiment.

Furthermore, the company issued a cautious outlook for the coming fiscal year, forecasting that EBIT growth is expected to be between low and mid-single digits. Management attributed this tempered guidance to uncertainty stemming from the Middle East, stating it is taking a more cautious near-term outlook despite its diversified geographical profile and strong fundamentals.
