NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is scheduled to arrive in Seoul this Friday for a four-day visit to South Korea, where he will hold a packed schedule of meetings with the heads of major Korean conglomerates. Beyond business talks, his itinerary includes a television variety show appearance and a baseball game appearance, marking a comprehensive charm offensive.

According to reports, Huang will arrive at Gimpo International Airport on Friday afternoon and proceed to a Korean barbecue restaurant in Seoul's Seongsu-dong district. There, he will have dinner with SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung, LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, and Naver founder and Chairman Lee Hae-jin.

Industry observers anticipate in-depth discussions on potential cooperation in areas such as High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), AI data centers, autonomous driving, robotics, and physical AI.

This marks Huang's second trip to South Korea in seven months, highlighting the country's growing importance in NVIDIA's global strategy. An analyst from KB Securities noted that NVIDIA's reliance on Korean suppliers is increasing and suggested South Korea is becoming an ideal testing ground for physical AI.

Beyond the Boardroom

The scope of this visit extends far beyond typical business travel.

On Sunday, Huang is set to throw the ceremonial first pitch for a baseball game between the Doosan Bears and the Kiwoom Heroes, wearing a Doosan Bears jersey. Doosan Group Chairman Park Jeong-won will take the ceremonial first at-bat. Notably, Doosan Group's business includes robotics research and produces materials required for NVIDIA's Blackwell chips.

In the entertainment sphere, Huang will make his South Korean television variety show debut on the popular program "You Quiz on the Block," produced by CJ ENM, often likened to a Korean version of "The Tonight Show."

On Monday, Huang is also scheduled to hold a private meeting with executives from South Korean AI and robotics startups in Seoul. This is reportedly his first formal meeting with robotics startup founders in the country. Additionally, he plans to visit the AI and Robotics Research Center at Seoul National University and engage directly with students.

A corporate analysis firm leader commented that Huang likely learned from his visit last October, where a casual meal of fried chicken and beer with Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Euisun Chung drew significant media attention. Huang himself hinted at the culinary aspect of his trip in a recent interview, saying he might go to Korea for fried chicken or grilled pork belly.

Deepening Ties with SK Group

This Seoul visit will be the fourth meeting between Huang and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won in just six months, a notably high frequency in the industry.

The two first met in Silicon Valley in February last year, met again at the GTC 2026 conference in San Jose this March, and held talks in Taipei during Computex on June 1st, discussing cooperation prospects in the AI memory sector.

The Taipei meeting coincided with the historic milestone of SK hynix's market capitalization surpassing 1 trillion dollars, a topic they discussed while reaffirming their commitment to jointly exploring the AI infrastructure field. Chairman Chey stated during Computex his plan to double memory production capacity within five years to address a severe supply-demand imbalance, a situation he expects to persist until 2030.

New Focus Areas: Gaming and Robotics

Beyond traditional chip collaboration, gaming and robotics are emerging as new focal points for this visit.

Reports indicate Huang is expected to meet with NC Corp. CEO Kim Taek-jin on Sunday to discuss potential cooperation between gaming and AI.

Furthermore, he plans to meet with Krafton Executive Director Chang Byung-gyu and other executives. Discussions are likely to cover NVIDIA's RTX Spark semiconductor product for high-end Windows laptops and potential gaming collaborations in the physical AI field. Krafton established a robotics company, Ludo Robotics, earlier this year.

A fund manager in Seoul was cited stating that Korean companies operate many advanced factories requiring large quantities of such chips. Huang himself has indicated that robotics is an area he is considering for investment in Korea, citing the country's strong manufacturing base and demographic challenges.

The frequency of Huang's visits underscores the deepening strategic interdependence between NVIDIA and South Korea. Samsung Electronics and SK hynix together produce approximately 70% of the memory required for global AI chips, making them indispensable suppliers for NVIDIA. Concurrently, South Korea is a key market for NVIDIA, which announced last October it would supply over 260,000 of its most advanced AI chips to the Korean government and major corporations.
