During the National Day holiday period, airfare prices have clearly fallen, with same-period bookings at hotels in popular cities rising 30% year on year, according to data learned from travel platforms on October 2.
Data shows that airfare prices began to drop significantly on October 2, becoming 20% cheaper than on October 1; prices continued to decline on the 3rd and 4th, reaching the holiday low point.
From the 5th, as the return journey began, prices climbed all the way up, hitting their highest point on October 7, before falling back on October 8 and 9.
Taking Beijing-Kunming as an example, the base ticket price for the 6:40 a.m. flight on October 1 was 1,927 yuan, while on October 2 it was 884 yuan, 50% cheaper than on the 1st.
Looking at specific routes: departing from Beijing on October 3, the lowest base fare to Harbin was 300 yuan; from Guangzhou to Qingdao, the lowest was 500 yuan; from Shanghai to Xi'an, the lowest was 350 yuan; and from Wuhan to Tianjin, the lowest was 385 yuan.
Through analysis of hotel booking data on the platform, same-period bookings at hotels in popular cities rose 30% year on year, with the highest volumes of last-minute bookings in Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Qingdao and Xi'an.
