On September 7, the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released a document addressing frequently asked questions regarding five mandatory national standards for the photovoltaic sector, marking the first batch of such clarifications. The document covers a total of 17 questions, organized into three key sections: the scope of application, technical content, and implementation of these mandatory standards.

The five mandatory national standards (referred to as "mandatory standards") include the Safety Requirements for Photovoltaic Modules (GB 47739-2026), the Marking and Labeling Requirements for Photovoltaic Modules (GB 47740-2026), the Energy Efficiency Limits and Energy Efficiency Grades for Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Modules and Inverters (GB 47834-2026), the Energy Consumption Limits per Unit Product for Polysilicon and Germanium (GB 29447-2026), and the Energy Consumption Limits per Unit Product for Monocrystalline Silicon (GB 47835-2026). These benchmarks serve as crucial technical standards aimed at regulating market order within the photovoltaic industry and supporting capacity management efforts.

To ensure these standards are accurately implemented and enforced, the following clarifications address the most common concerns raised during the execution process. Additional answers to these frequently asked questions are expected to be provided in subsequent releases as the standards continue to be rolled out.
