Data from the Ministry of Commerce indicates that China's e-commerce sector has achieved stable and innovative development during the January-July period this year.

The integration of online and offline channels continues to unlock consumer potential, with nationwide online retail sales of goods and services growing 4.8% year-on-year in the first seven months. This online activity contributed over half of the total growth in retail sales of consumer goods and services.

Online platforms have expanded the scope of physical goods available to consumers while also enhancing the convenience of service consumption. According to ministry monitoring of major e-commerce platforms, sales from online travel and online lifestyle services surged 24.9% and 16.3% respectively during this timeframe.

E-commerce is also driving industrial transformation and upgrades. Business big data tracking shows that online retail sales of agricultural products and rural goods increased by 12.8% and 5% respectively in the first seven months. Local governments are fostering "e-commerce plus industrial belt" initiatives, connecting platforms with specialized manufacturing clusters. Consequently, e-commerce transaction values for industrial goods and chemical products rose 1.4% and 1.2% respectively during this period.

Additionally, online shopping and digital content consumption are fueling rapid growth in related service industries.
