Royal Caribbean Cruises shares surged 5.06% during intraday trading on Tuesday, staging a sharp reversal from pre-market losses as investors focused on stronger-than-expected quarterly earnings and an upgraded full-year profit outlook.

The cruise operator initially fell in pre-market trading after trimming its annual revenue growth forecast to 9% from approximately 10%, citing foreign exchange headwinds and a modest booking impact from prolonged geopolitical activity. However, sentiment swiftly turned positive as the market digested the company's second-quarter results, which showed adjusted earnings per share of $4.21, handily beating the analyst consensus estimate of $3.98. Revenue rose 6.5% to $4.83 billion, roughly in line with expectations.

Driving the intraday rally was Royal Caribbean's raised full-year adjusted EPS guidance to a range of $17.73 to $17.87, significantly above the prior forecast of $17.10 to $17.50 and well ahead of the FactSet consensus of $17.32. Management attributed the improved profit outlook to strong close-in demand, lower costs, and favorable joint venture performance. The company also noted that booking prices remain at record highs, volumes are above prior-year levels, and occupancy rates stay robust across its portfolio, reinforcing confidence in sustained consumer demand for cruise vacations.
