Heilongjiang has launched a new initiative to create a directory of key trademarks, aiming to strengthen the precision of intellectual property protection.

Recently, the Heilongjiang Provincial Intellectual Property Office, alongside the Provincial High People's Court, Provincial Procuratorate, Provincial Public Security Department, Provincial Market Regulation Administration, and Harbin Customs, jointly issued the "Measures for the Management of Heilongjiang's Key Trademark Protection Directory" (hereinafter referred to as the "Measures"). This move is designed to implement the requirements of the "Heilongjiang Provincial Intellectual Property Protection Regulations" and further enhance the effectiveness of protecting highly recognized trademarks.

The "Measures" closely align with Heilongjiang's industrial characteristics and the actual circumstances of trademark protection. They address current pain points and difficulties, such as insufficient precision in trademark protection, challenges in safeguarding well-known brands, and inadequate protection mechanisms. By strengthening the targeted protection of high-value trademarks, the initiative will include registered trademarks that enjoy high market recognition, significant brand influence, and notable economic benefits in the province into the protection directory. This will establish a standardized, routine, and long-term working mechanism for key trademark protection.

Leveraging the key trademark protection directory, Heilongjiang will deepen the full-chain collaboration mechanism among various departments for intellectual property protection. This will involve enhanced communication and cooperation in areas such as sharing case leads, conducting joint enforcement actions, and assisting with investigations. The goal is to intensify efforts to combat trademark infringement and counterfeiting, facilitate access to rights protection channels, and effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of trademark holders.

In the next phase, the Heilongjiang Provincial Intellectual Property Office will advance the promotion and implementation of the "Measures," concurrently conducting policy interpretation and business training guidance. It will also initiate the declaration and recognition process for the first batch of key trademarks. The province will continue to strengthen the cultivation and protection of trademark brands, guiding business entities to build brand awareness and enhance brand value, thereby supporting the quality upgrade and development of Heilongjiang's distinctive industries.
