Viking Holdings Ltd. (VIK) saw its stock price soar 10.62% during Thursday's intraday trading session.

The sharp increase followed the cruise operator's release of its first-quarter 2026 financial results, which significantly exceeded analyst expectations. The company reported an adjusted loss per share of $0.11, a notable improvement from the $0.24 loss per share a year ago and better than the FactSet consensus estimate for a loss of $0.13. Furthermore, revenue for the quarter rose 17.5% year-over-year to $1.05 billion, surpassing the estimated $1.01 billion.

Concurrently, Viking announced a leadership transition, appointing Chief Financial Officer Leah Talactac as the new Chief Executive Officer. Outgoing CEO Torstein Hagen will assume the role of Executive Chairman. The market viewed the combination of stronger-than-anticipated financial performance and a smooth executive succession plan positively, driving the stock's significant upward movement.
