Recently, the proposed winning bidder for the general contracting (EPC) of the first batch of student dormitory building projects (Groups A3 and B1) at Shandong University's Longshan Campus (Innovation Port) was announced, with a contract value of approximately 29.30 billion yuan, marking a new milestone in the construction of the new campus.

Shandong University's Longshan Campus is the ninth campus established by the university in Zhangqiu District, Jinan City, forming part of the "one university, three locations" (Jinan, Qingdao, Weihai) layout. Officially launched in Zhangqiu District in August 2019, the campus is planned to cover an area of about 7,800 acres, making it the largest campus of the university upon completion. It is positioned as a "global talent hub, national science and innovation center, engine for Shandong's development, and cultural beacon of the times," with a focus on supporting projects such as technology industrial parks and advanced technology research institutes.

In 2019, Shandong University signed a cooperation agreement with the Jinan Municipal Government, designating the Longshan Campus (Innovation Port) as a core construction project. In September 2023, land supply for the residential area of the living quarters commenced, followed by the bidding for the design of the first-phase individual buildings in October, involving an area of approximately 2 million square meters. In December 2024, a project advancement event was held, outlining plans for the construction of a high-energy scientific research platform matrix and collaborative innovation consortium.

The campus is surrounded by a 6,000-acre university science and technology industrial park, which includes supporting facilities such as a 12-year experimental school (covering 264,422 square meters). Simultaneously, an innovation and entrepreneurship alliance is being established to deepen technical cooperation and joint talent cultivation with leading enterprises like Zhanggu, Shengquan, and Hualing.

In April of this year, the Jinan Municipal Government Information Office held a themed press conference on "Project Empowerment for a Strong Provincial Capital," focusing on Zhangqiu District. It was emphasized that Zhangqiu District will prioritize accelerating the construction of the first phase of Shandong University's Longshan Campus and the first phase of the Innovation Port this year.
