Hong Kong-listed Peijia Medical Limited announced that the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) has approved the registration of the SeQuent® Please CIS Paclitaxel Drug-Coated Intracranial Balloon Dilatation Catheter. The device, originally developed by B. Braun Medical (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., uses paclitaxel to curb neointimal hyperplasia during mechanical dilatation, aiming to lower long-term restenosis risk in intracranial vessels with narrow and tortuous anatomy.

Peijia Medical, through its subsidiary Shanghai Achieva Medical Suzhou Co., Ltd., holds exclusive distribution rights for the product in mainland China. Management expects the newly approved catheter to complement the Group’s existing neurointerventional portfolio and enhance its commercial reach in treating intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis.

The company cautioned that successful market launch is not guaranteed and advised shareholders and potential investors to exercise prudence when dealing in its shares.
