On October 24, reports emerged that Ant Group is preparing to release its new AGI multi-modal application "Lingguang," which is already available for download on platforms such as Tencent App Store and Vivo App Store, and has begun an invitation-only beta test. Upon downloading the app, users can log in directly using their mobile phone numbers or Alipay accounts.

The developer of the "Lingguang" application is Alipay (Hangzhou) Digital Service Technology Co., Ltd. Its standout feature is the "AGI Camera," which utilizes AI capabilities to identify and comprehend the world. Industry insiders suggest that the "AGI Camera" function may be similar to the image recognition features of the Yuanbao and Doubao apps, allowing users to identify and understand issues through the camera lens and receive responses.

Ant Group has not yet responded to inquiries regarding this information. However, it has been noted that the company is actively recruiting for numerous positions related to "multi-modal understanding and generation algorithms" on recruitment platforms.

Earlier this year, in late April, Ant Group introduced a model that achieved a unified understanding and generation of images, demonstrating significant technological potential and development opportunities in this area. In May, the company launched the Ming-Lite-omni-Preview version, making it the world's first open-source model that can compete with GPT-4o in terms of modality support capabilities, further integrating the generation and understanding of both voice and images.

Ant Group has been advancing its three major strategies since last year: "AI First, dual flywheel of Alipay, and accelerating globalization." Over the past year, it has launched several AI applications, including Zhixiaobao and AQ. After Han Xinyi officially took over as CEO in March 2025, an AGI department was established, directly overseen by Ant Group CTO He Zhengyu, focusing on general AI algorithms and applications.
