Goldman Sachs Alternatives' private equity division has successfully concluded fundraising efforts for a suite of funds and associated investment vehicles, accumulating a combined $11.7 billion.

The primary driver of this capital raise is the latest flagship private equity investment vehicle, West Street Capital Partners IX (WSCP IX), along with its related investment tools, which collectively secured $9.6 billion. Additionally, the strategy dedicated to the broader Asia-Pacific region, West Street Asia Equity Partners I (WSAEP I), has attracted over $1.6 billion to date, supplemented by $500 million raised for its associated co-investment vehicles.

WSCP IX represents the ninth fund in Goldman Sachs Alternatives' flagship buyout platform. Since 1986, this team has deployed more than $89 billion globally, collaborating with companies and management teams to drive growth. The fund's capital has been sourced from a variety of institutional and high-net-worth investors across North America, Europe, and the Middle East, with Goldman Sachs and its employees also making substantial commitments.

Continuing the strategy's focus on control-oriented investments in the middle market, WSCP IX is expected to target opportunities across sectors such as business services, financials, technology, healthcare, consumer, and the energy transition. The fund has already made initial investments, including in US cybersecurity auditing firm Schellman, European medical device company Numantec, and US sports representation and marketing agency Excel Sports Management.

In addition to the capital raised for WSCP IX and its associated tools, Goldman Sachs Alternatives is actively fundraising for WSAEP I. This strategy is focused on the Asia-Pacific region, concentrating on control buyouts within the regional middle market, as well as selected growth equity opportunities.

As of June 30, Goldman Sachs Alternatives manages $459 billion in assets, with an ambition to expand this figure to $750 billion by the end of 2030.
