Metlen Group has announced that this partnership establishes another reliable channel for long-term natural gas supply. The London-listed industrial and energy company revealed on Monday that it has signed a long-term agreement to import and supply liquefied natural gas to Greece. Under the terms of the deal, Petco Trading, the UK subsidiary of Malaysia's Petronas, will deliver six cargoes of LNG to Greece annually. The five-year agreement, set to commence in 2027, will provide a yearly supply of approximately 600 million cubic metres. Metlen Group stated that this collaboration opens a new, stable avenue for long-term gas procurement. Amid ongoing uncertainty in the regional energy landscape, the agreement is also expected to bolster energy supply security, addressing both the company's own consumption needs and the broader gas demand across Europe.

This strategic move reinforces Metlen Group's efforts to diversify its energy sources and strengthen its position in the European market. The partnership with Petronas, one of the world's leading energy companies, underscores the growing importance of securing dependable supply chains in a volatile global environment. By securing this additional volume, Metlen Group aims to enhance its flexibility in meeting customer demand while contributing to the stability of the wider European gas network.

The agreement also reflects a broader trend of European companies seeking to lock in long-term energy contracts to mitigate price fluctuations and supply disruptions. As the region continues to navigate geopolitical challenges and the transition towards cleaner energy, agreements such as this one provide a measure of predictability for both suppliers and consumers alike.
