CHINAGOLDINTL (02099) has announced that a localized slope stability incident occurred at the Chang Shan Hao Gold Mine on May 22, 2026. The incident was primarily triggered by heavy local rainfall from May 15 to 16, 2026, compounded by complex geological conditions, constituting a localized geological hazard event. No casualties resulted from the incident. Prior to the event, the slope monitoring radar issued continuous warnings, prompting the mine to promptly activate its emergency response protocol. Personnel and equipment were evacuated according to established safety procedures. Currently, open-pit mining operations have been suspended to conduct further geotechnical and operational assessments. The ore processing plant continues to operate normally, utilizing existing low-grade ore stockpiles to maintain production. The company has engaged external geotechnical experts and specialized institutions to assist with further evaluation and the development of subsequent technical solutions. An assessment is underway regarding the incident's potential impact on mining operations and future production plans. Based on current information, the company anticipates that this event will not materially affect its annual production guidance. The relevant assessment work is ongoing.
