Plum deer farming accounts for 30% of China's total, rice reaches dining tables in Hong Kong, and fresh corn is exported to over 30 countries and regions. On August 14, at the Changchun Modern Metropolitan Area Agricultural Industry Coordinated Development Conference, it was revealed that four cities in the region are jointly developing special industries, such as plum deer, rice, fresh corn, and edible fungi, to expand overseas and domestic markets. The Changchun Modern Metropolitan Area, centered around Changchun, includes the cities of Jilin, Siping, and Liaoyuan. This area benefits from the "World's Golden Rice Belt" and the "World's Golden Corn Belt," offering exceptional agricultural advantages and a solid industrial foundation.

Regions like Jiutai in Changchun and Yongji in Jilin have a long history of rice production, once serving as key areas for tribute rice. Li Zhanjun, Deputy County Mayor of Yongji, explained that local rice quality is ensured by good water and soil, along with natural air-drying techniques and cold storage freshness methods. The county also uses Swiss Bühler rice processing equipment, resulting in rice that is white, shiny, smooth, and sticky. He noted that the local rice brand not only sells in cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong but also offers a "Hometown of Tribute Rice Experience Tour" route, enhancing the value of ecological products.

Shuangyang in Changchun and Dongfeng in Liaoyuan have a centuries-old history of plum deer domestication and breeding, making them China's largest plum deer farming and processing base and trading center. They are now dedicated to building a 100-billion-yuan plum deer industry cluster. The "Shuangyang Plum Deer" is the world's first identified deer species and is leveraging cooperation platforms like Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao, Jilin-Zhejiang, and Jilin-Henan to open new channels for medicinal and edible deer products, continuously improving the level of industrial openness and cooperation.

The rapid development of interconnected transportation networks within the Changchun Metropolitan Area, along with improved cold-chain logistics, has facilitated the instant delivery of fresh corn, allowing this specialty to reach consumers quickly. Zhao Ming, Deputy Mayor of Gongzhuling, noted that after over 20 years of development, the local fresh corn industry has grown from simple planting and processing into a potential industry integrating research, seeds, production, and sales. In 2025, Gongzhuling aims to plant about 100,000 mu of fresh corn, with an annual output exceeding 340 million ears. Products are exported to over 30 countries and regions, including Japan, South Korea, Germany, and the United States. The "Northeast Agricultural Sister" brand has also completed Madrid International Trademark registration, further expanding into international markets.

On the same day, the "Changchun Modern Metropolitan Area Agricultural Industry Coordinated Development Cooperation Declaration" was released. Li Xuefei, Deputy Director of the Changchun Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, stated that the metropolitan area is jointly building unified agricultural product display and sales channels, as well as production and marketing connections, to collectively explore domestic and international markets.
