From November 5 to 10, the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was successfully held in Shanghai, bringing together hundreds of multinational companies showcasing cutting-edge technologies and innovations. The event fostered a collaborative ecosystem spanning technology, industry, and markets, bridging China's vast innovation landscape with global industrial cooperation. Among the participants, several companies, including Qualcomm, have attended all eight editions of CIIE, consistently introducing groundbreaking technologies and products.

Qualcomm returned to CIIE as an "eight-year veteran," presenting under the theme "Together, We Empower Progress for All." The company collaborated with Chinese ecosystem partners to demonstrate next-generation connectivity and intelligent computing experiences. On November 6, the "CIIE Night of Cultural Exchange" was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). As a long-standing participant, Qualcomm joined other enterprises and institutions in signing up for the 9th CIIE, pledging to bring more innovations and partnerships next year.

**Eight Years of CIIE: From Exhibits to Industrial Collaboration** At this year’s expo, Qualcomm showcased advancements in connectivity, computing, and AI, highlighting its integration with China's smart industry ecosystem. The China International Import Expo Bureau awarded Qualcomm the "Eight-Year CIIE Veteran" medal, recognizing its unwavering participation and reinforcing expectations for future collaboration.

Since 2018, CIIE has served as a vital platform for multinational companies to engage with the Chinese market, witnessing technological evolution and industrial convergence. Over the years, Qualcomm has demonstrated the commercialization of 5G and the synergy of "5G+AI" in driving industry growth. At the first CIIE in 2018, 5G was still in pre-commercial stages, with Qualcomm displaying its 5G Mobile Test Platform (MTP). By 2019, as 5G officially launched in China, the first generation of 5G smartphones debuted at Qualcomm’s booth, marking a rapid transition from prototype to product.

**AI Takes Center Stage** While AI has become a focal point in recent years, Qualcomm foresaw its potential early, advocating for "5G+AI empowering industries" as early as 2021. This year, AI glasses powered by Snapdragon platforms from brands like Xiaomi, Rokid, and Thunderbird drew significant attention. These devices, supporting video calls, real-time translation, and health monitoring, exemplify Qualcomm’s fusion of advanced technology with China’s smart ecosystem.

Frank Meng, Chairman of Qualcomm China, remarked, "As an eight-year participant, CIIE allows us to witness China’s market vitality and openness. The rapid adoption of our technologies—like AI glasses, robotics, and smart vehicles—reflects the 'China speed' of our partners. For instance, just one month after launching our flagship platform, 12 smartphone models were already showcased here."

**Expanding Ecosystem: Smart Devices and Automotive Innovations** Qualcomm’s booth featured diverse smart terminals developed by Chinese partners on Snapdragon platforms, alongside smart connected vehicles with Snapdragon Digital Chassis solutions and IoT innovations. A standout exhibit was the custom-made Yushu humanoid robot G1Q, powered by the Snapdragon IQ9 processor, which delivered millisecond-level latency control and real-time adaptability for industrial applications.

The company also released *Setting Sail Again: 2025 Qualcomm IoT Innovation Casebook*, highlighting 22 cross-industry innovations from Chinese companies, emphasizing their global competitiveness.

On November 9, the CIIE mascot "Jinbao" visited Qualcomm’s booth, interacting with visitors and exploring advanced communication and AI applications.

**30 Years in China: A Foundation for Shared Growth** 2025 marks Qualcomm’s 40th anniversary and 30 years in China. This year’s CIIE encapsulated its three-decade journey of co-innovation with Chinese partners across mobile communications, consumer electronics, AI, smart vehicles, and IoT. From pioneering 3G/4G to enabling 5G and now advancing toward 6G, Qualcomm has evolved from a technology provider to a long-term ecosystem partner.

In automotive, collaborations with Chinese brands like Chery’s Jetour have yielded over 210 vehicle models featuring Snapdragon Digital Chassis solutions. At CIIE, the Jetour G700, equipped with the 4th-gen Snapdragon Cockpit Platform, showcased multi-screen interactivity and AI-powered responsiveness, underscoring technology’s transformative role in autos.

Through 30 years of partnership and eight consecutive CIIE appearances, Qualcomm remains committed to "rooting in China, sharing wisdom, and enabling innovation," fostering shared growth with Chinese partners on a global scale.
