The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has issued a formal response to the United States Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) decision to add foreign-made power inverters and advanced robotics equipment to its "Covered List."

In a statement released on July 30, a ministry spokesperson expressed strong opposition to the move, which effectively blocks new models of these products from receiving FCC certification and entering the U.S. market. The spokesperson noted that this is the latest in a series of similar restrictive actions by the FCC against Chinese goods.

The spokesperson argued that the FCC's measures, while nominally "non-discriminatory," are in practice a discriminatory effort to target and suppress Chinese companies and their products. These actions, the statement continued, disregard repeated representations from China and ignore the country's restraint, severely damaging China's legitimate trade interests, disrupting the stability of Sino-American economic relations, and destabilizing global industrial and supply chains.

Robots and power inverters are standard international commodities from which all parties, including the United States, benefit through trade.

The spokesperson accused the U.S. of overstretching the concept of national security, ignoring the strong calls from industries in both countries, and using administrative power to interfere with normal commercial transactions and trade. The official described this as a "typical act of market distortion and unilateral bullying" that hurts others without benefiting the perpetrator, insisting it is a continuation of the "decoupling and severing of supply chains" agenda.

China urges the United States to immediately revoke the relevant measures and cease its erroneous practices.

The statement concluded with a clear warning: If the U.S. persists in its current course, China will resolutely take countermeasures to defend its legitimate rights and interests.
