Fluence Energy Stock Soars Over 36% on Partnership with NVIDIA and Siemens for New AI Data Center Design

Shares of Fluence Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLNC) experienced a dramatic surge on Monday, climbing over 36% to trade at $25.8.

The catalyst for the move was an announcement from German industrial giant Siemens regarding a collaboration with NVIDIA and energy storage specialist Fluence Energy. The partnership, incorporating nVent design standards, has introduced a new reference design for AI factories built on the NVIDIA DSX Vera Rubin platform.

This comprehensive blueprint provides a complete power and control system architecture tailored for hyperscale data centers, colocation providers, and specialized cloud service operators.

Built around NVIDIA's next-generation Vera Rubin NVL72 AI computing platform, the reference design aims to help data center operators tackle the growing challenges of power supply, thermal management, operational efficiency, and system reliability in the AI era.

According to Siemens, the architecture can support AI data center facilities with a total capacity of up to 136 megawatts (MW), including an IT equipment load of 100 MW.

The solution provides an end-to-end power management framework, covering everything from the 34.5 kilovolt (kV) grid connection point down through medium-voltage distribution, modular low-voltage power systems, and finally to the cabinet-level power architecture.

As AI training clusters continue to scale, the power infrastructure demands for a single AI factory now far exceed those of traditional cloud computing data centers. High-density AI clusters powered by NVIDIA's Vera Rubin platform, in particular, impose stricter requirements for power stability, energy efficiency, and rapid expansion capabilities.

Siemens stated that the architecture employs a Tier III "concurrently maintainable" design principle, allowing maintenance personnel to service or replace critical equipment without interrupting IT operations, thereby enhancing system availability.

Simultaneously, the modular, building-block design aligns with NVIDIA's DSX Vera Rubin deployment units. It enables scaling from tens of megawatts to hundreds of megawatts for AI campuses based on client needs, without requiring extensive redesign.

Industry observers believe this standardized, replicable construction model can help shorten AI data center build cycles and accelerate the commercialization of computing power for enterprises.

On the energy management front, Fluence Energy contributes its battery energy storage system (BESS) to the solution, enhancing operational flexibility and power resilience for AI factories in power-constrained environments.

Jeff Monday, Chief Growth Officer at Fluence Energy, noted that the company's Smartstack energy storage platform can deliver several critical grid support functions, including voltage and frequency stability control, demand response, and AI load smoothing services.

Analysts point out that against a backdrop of tightening grid capacity in many regions globally, energy storage systems are becoming a vital component in AI data center construction, helping to alleviate the tension between the growth of computing power and the availability of electricity supply.
