Holiday Season Sees Major Surge in Foot Traffic and Sales for New Tea Beverage Chains

On May 6, it was reported that during the recent Labor Day holiday period, Chagee Holdings Limited experienced a significant increase in both customer visits and sales across its nationwide stores. The company served over 16 million customers in total. In addition to notable growth at outlets located in high-speed rail stations, airports, and tourist attractions, stores situated in commercial shopping centers also saw a sharp rise in sales, benefiting from the ability of integrated commercial complexes to accommodate family outings and social gatherings. Some locations reported sales increases of more than 300% compared to the pre-holiday period. During the holiday, orders for social-type beverages—defined as two or more cups per transaction—surged by 47.7% compared to before the holiday, totaling over 2.92 million orders nationwide. Consumption trends indicated a clear preference for nearby destinations and short trips during the break, with stores in cities such as Dongguan, Foshan, Suzhou, and Jinhua, located in the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta regions, performing particularly well. Separately, another tea beverage brand, Jasmine Milk White, reported that its 2,400 stores nationwide achieved a 30% increase in total revenue compared to the pre-holiday period, driven by holiday consumption and improved operational efficiency. The brand sold more than 5.45 million cups of tea during the holiday, with daily order volumes rising significantly compared to the period before the holiday.
