The outbound travel craze is showing no signs of slowing down. Latest figures indicate that in the first half of this year, the number of trips taken by mainland residents abroad has already surpassed 88 million, representing a year-on-year increase of more than 10% and reflecting the sustained momentum of overseas tourism.

With the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday approaching, many travelers are planning extended breaks by combining three days of annual leave with the statutory holidays, creating an impressive 13-day vacation. This strategy has led to an early release of long-haul travel demand. Even though there is still over a month to go before the official holiday period, flight bookings for international routes during this festive window have already exceeded 1.28 million tickets, up roughly 11% compared to the same period last year.

As the number of travelers continues to grow, there has also been a marked increase in risk awareness among holidaymakers. Potential issues such as medical expenses, flight delays, and lost luggage are now becoming standard considerations for trip preparations, bringing overseas travel insurance and protection plans into the spotlight like never before.
