The U.S. major indexes closed as follows: Dow Jones declined 0.63% at 52,093.11; S&P 500 fell 0.45% at 7,585.73; NASDAQ declined 0.78% at 25,981.57. Softer sentiment around big-cap technology and renewed macro concerns kept all three benchmarks in the red by the closing bell.

Chipmakers led the day’s standout moves. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) up 2.19% at $504.20 and NVIDIA (NVDA) up 0.57% at $212.17 extended recent momentum in AI-linked names, while Marvell Technology (MRVL) up 1.32% at $221.70 also advanced. Social-media giant Meta Platforms (META) gained 0.70% at $670.24 after highlighting in-house AI-chip plans. On the downside, crypto-related Coinbase Global (COIN) fell 10.10% at $172.11 and stable-coin firm Circle Internet (CRCL) slid 11.41% at $86.30 ahead of a key Senate vote on digital-asset rules. Among megacaps, Oracle (ORCL) declined 3.07% at $140.35 and Broadcom (AVGO) fell 1.58% at $339.27.

ETF signals were mixed. The leveraged semiconductor fund Direxion Daily Semiconductors Bull 3x (SOXL) advanced 1.18% at $102.32, mirroring strength in chip names, whereas broad benchmarks such as SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) slipped 0.46% at $757.39 and Invesco QQQ (QQQ) declined 0.65% at $704.54, underscoring the broader market’s cautious tone.
