Chemed's stock surged 6.02% in post-market trading on Thursday, following the release of its first-quarter 2026 financial results that exceeded analyst expectations.
The healthcare and plumbing services company reported adjusted earnings of $5.65 per share, beating the consensus estimate of $5.30. Revenue for the quarter reached $657.5 million, also surpassing expectations of $649.8 million.
Chemed raised its full-year 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to a range of $24.00 to $24.75, up from the previous range of $23.25 to $24.25. The company attributed the strong performance to increased admissions at its VITAS hospice segment, which grew 6.9%, and also raised revenue growth guidance for both its VITAS and American Drain Cleaning segments.
