A data center operator backed by NVIDIA is set to construct an artificial intelligence data center campus in Indonesia. The company projects that the venture will generate agreements worth up to $30 billion within its initial six years.

The Australian firm, Firmus, disclosed in a statement that it has entered into an eight-year collaborative agreement with NVIDIA to build a dedicated NVIDIA DSX AI factory campus on Batam Island, Indonesia, featuring a capacity of 360 megawatts. The island is situated across the water from Singapore.

Firmus indicated that this extensive data center project will be developed in partnership with Singapore-based DayOne.

Firmus anticipates that committed customer orders will yield revenues between $25 billion and $30 billion over the partnership's first six years.

The company stated that the agreement encompasses the procurement of up to 170,000 NVIDIA AI graphics processing units between 2027 and 2028, "positioning the Batam Island campus among the largest AI infrastructure developments in the Asia-Pacific region."

Firmus also noted it will offer cloud services powered by NVIDIA's computing capabilities for external sale. NVIDIA stands to gain not only standard product revenue but also a share of the cloud service income generated from the associated computing power.

The company added that this transaction will facilitate access to NVIDIA's infrastructure resources for AI-native enterprises.
