Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang expressed in a Sunday interview that he would have no issue paying billions of dollars in additional taxes if California voters approve the proposed "billionaire tax" this autumn. The ballot measure would impose a one-time 5% levy on state residents with a net worth of at least $1 billion.

Huang, whose fortune is estimated at $184 billion, stated that remitting up to $8 billion in taxes over a five-year span poses no difficulty for him. "Being able to afford paying $8 billion in taxes over five years is a privilege," Huang remarked. "I view it as a privilege and a responsibility. There is nothing that brings me more joy than being able to pay more taxes."

Huang also touched on his immense wealth with a touch of humor. "I'm not afraid of paying taxes—I'm only afraid of becoming poor," he quipped.

The executive described himself as the embodiment of the "ultimate American dream," crediting the educational and career opportunities in the United States for paving his entrepreneurial path. Reflecting on his early career, Huang recalled working as a dishwasher at Denny's before co-founding the chip company. "I was really, really focused on washing dishes—more seriously than anyone else," he said, illustrating how far his professional journey has come from its humble beginnings.
