On September 10th in the early morning, Apple officially held its 2025 autumn product launch event. At the event, iPhone Air was officially announced, adopting a unified eSIM-only design globally, with the device no longer featuring a physical SIM card slot.
According to reports, iPhone Air supports dual eSIM functionality, allowing activation of two eSIMs. Using eSIM requires selecting carriers that support eSIM technology along with corresponding mobile communication service plans. Currently, China Unicom supports activation services.
Apple stated that compared to physical plastic cards, eSIM offers greater convenience and enhanced security, while also saving internal space within the iPhone.
