Shenzhen has officially kicked off the application process for its 2026 artificial intelligence corpus special funds, with the acceptance window running from 9:00 AM on September 1, 2026, to 6:00 PM on November 10, 2026. The initiative is part of the city's broader push to accelerate the growth of the AI industry and facilitate the construction and circulation of corpus data.

Under the previously published operational procedures for the special funds, the city is offering support through two primary channels: procurement subsidies and open-data rewards. For the procurement side, enterprises that purchase non-affiliated corpus data through designated data exchanges for AI research and development will be eligible for a subsidy covering up to 30% of the total purchase cost, capped at a maximum of 2 million yuan. On the rewards front, companies that make compliant corpus data available to the public via the Shenzhen government's open data platform can receive a reward of up to 1 million yuan.

The exact amount of financial support will be determined by a combination of factors, including the scale of data purchases, the volume and quality of data released, the frequency of updates, and the practical outcomes of its application. Eligible applicants must be enterprises actively conducting production and business operations within Shenzhen and must ensure that their corpus data fully complies with relevant regulatory and compliance standards.

To streamline the process, multiple application channels have been made available. Businesses can submit their applications online by visiting the Guangdong Government Service Network (Shenzhen portal) on a PC and searching for the "Shenzhen Artificial Intelligence Corpus Special Funds" item. Alternatively, they may file their paperwork in person at the comprehensive reception window of the Shenzhen Municipal Government Service Center, located at Block B of the Civic Center, Fuzhong Third Road, Futian District.

For any inquiries, applicants can call 0755-88127457 or send an email to szsrgznylq@sz.gov.cn. Additionally, the Shenzhen Municipal Administration of Government Services and Data has already launched a dedicated section for AI corpus data on the city's open data platform, which includes 10 datasets released with support from the 2025 corpus subsidies. These datasets collectively contain 1.6 terabytes of information, covering a wide range of industry scenarios such as industrial inspection, construction, dialect recognition, anonymized migrant population statistics, and order management, thereby providing robust data support for large model training, algorithm development, and other AI innovation efforts.

Members of the public can access these resources by logging onto the Shenzhen government open data platform at https://opendata.sz.gov.cn/ and navigating to the "AI Corpus Data Open Section" to apply for data access under the specified conditions.
