Hong Kong Stock Market Midday Review: Hang Seng Index Rises 0.81% as Xiaomi Leads the Blue Chips with a 7% Gain

Hong Kong stocks saw a midday uptick, with the Hang Seng Index climbing 0.81%, or 203 points, to 25,166. The Hang Seng Tech Index advanced 1.69%. Morning session turnover reached HK$111.2 billion.

Xiaomi Group-W (01810) surged 7.63%, buoyed by the announcement of its "Peng Cheng" product launch event scheduled for July 30, where two new SUV models, the N90 and N70, are expected to be unveiled.

Gaming stocks continued their upward momentum. With Macau's hotel occupancy rates expected to reach 90% during the summer holidays, casino revenue is anticipated to improve month by month. Melco International Development (00200) rose 6%, while MGM China (02282) gained 4.7%.

MicroPort CardioFlow-B (02160) jumped over 14% after two of its core products received approval for marketing in Europe and Australia, accelerating its global expansion strategy.

The brain-computer interface sector saw a significant breakthrough. Nanjing Panda Electronics (00553) surged more than 13%, and BrainAurora Medical-B (06681) rose 7%.

YesAsia Holdings (02209) climbed over 26% following a profit alert, expecting its net profit for the first half of the year to increase by approximately 30% year-on-year.

Dajin Heavy Industry (01081) advanced more than 9% after the official delivery of the "KING TWO" vessel, marking a milestone in the standardized batch production of the "KING" series.

MicroPort MedBot-B (02252) rose over 7% after reporting its first-ever profit in the first half of the year, driven by a significant increase in installations of its "Toumai" system both domestically and internationally.

Asia-Pac Financial Investment (08729) extended its rally, gaining over 12% as its subsidiary TGX strengthened its partnership with the Hong Kong Gold Exchange to jointly establish a new venture.

East Buy (01797) rose more than 8%, supported by expectations of strong growth momentum in the second half of fiscal year 2026 and its expanding portfolio of self-branded products.

Leads Biolabs-B (09887) fell over 11% as its lock-up period expired one year after its listing, with Kunming Pharmaceutical Group reportedly planning to fully exit its position, cashing out CNY 132 million.

CMBC Capital (01141) plunged over 40%, extending its three-day decline to more than 60%, after Xiaoyu Yingtong sold over 30 million shares of the company.

Renewed hopes for a ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran weighed on energy stocks. Shandong Molong Petroleum Machinery (00568) dropped more than 12%, while PetroChina (00857) fell 2%.
