Known as the "sixth insurance" of the social security system, long-term care insurance for the Xiong'an New Area will officially launch on October 1, 2026, according to information learned from the Xiong'an New Area today (September 29). The Xiong'an New Area will fully enter a new era of multi-tiered protection with "six insurances and two funds."

According to the Implementation Rules for Long-Term Care Insurance in the Xiong'an New Area, the Xiong'an long-term care insurance will initially cover in-service employees, retirees, and flexibly employed individuals. Insured persons whose disability status persists for more than 6 months due to aging, illness, or injury can apply for a disability level assessment. Insured employees assessed as severely disabled can independently choose institutional care or home care, with reimbursement rates reaching up to 75%, and a maximum annual reduction of 21,600 yuan in care burdens for disabled individuals.

At the same time, in order to better accommodate the relocation of Beijing's non-capital functions and further safeguard and improve people's livelihoods, the Xiong'an New Area is undertaking 6 national long-term care insurance reform tasks, including diversified financing and diversified protection.

Currently, the New Area has 10 service institutions and 4 assessment institutions. By introducing high-quality care resources from Beijing and Tianjin and building an efficient and convenient service system, insured residents in the New Area can apply for long-term care insurance benefits through multiple online and offline methods.
