Goldman Sachs reported that hedge funds have increased their short positions in U.S. stocks to record levels, with the information technology sector seeing significant selling pressure.

In the bond market, U.S. Treasuries edged higher as investors awaited the pricing of Alphabet's substantial debt offering.
