Hong Kong Stocks Open Higher: Hang Seng Index Gains 0.65%, Tech Index Rises 0.29%, Internet and Gold Shares Mostly Up

Major market movers saw mixed performance. U.S. stocks ended mixed on Thursday as reports that an AI giant's annualized revenue fell short of expectations weighed on related shares. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq came under pressure, while falling bond yields from recent highs supported traditional sector stocks. The Dow recovered from earlier volatility, with the three major indexes closing mixed. The dollar retreated from recent highs, and the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield dropped to 5.22%, while gold prices rebounded from lows and oil prices also strengthened.

Today, Hong Kong's three major indexes all opened higher. The Hang Seng Index rose 0.65% at the open to 23,941.26 points, the Hang Seng Tech Index gained 0.29%, and the China Enterprises Index added 0.58%.

On the board, internet stocks broadly advanced, with JD.com (JD) up more than 1%. Gold shares mostly rose, with Tongguan Gold gaining over 1%. Some semiconductor stocks declined, with Tianshu Zhixin falling more than 2%. Auto stocks were active, with BYD Company Limited (01211) up more than 1%.
