A recent Morning Consult poll reveals growing concern among Americans about increasing fuel costs, with approximately half attributing responsibility to former President Trump. The survey indicates that 74% of U.S. adults believe gasoline prices have risen this year, a 30-percentage-point increase from the firm's previous poll six weeks prior.

The online survey, which polled 1,002 American adults and weighted the data according to demographic factors, carries a margin of error of ±3 percentage points. When asked who bears the most responsibility for current fuel prices, 48% pointed to the former president and his administration, 16% cited oil and gas companies, 13% attributed it to global market forces, and 11% blamed former President Biden.

Kyle Dropp, President of Morning Consult, noted that low gasoline prices had previously been a notable achievement of the former administration. According to data from the American Automobile Association (AAA), gasoline prices have climbed for 11 consecutive days, with the average price of regular fuel surging more than 20% compared to last month.

The current average price stands at $3.60 per gallon, up from $2.95 one month ago.
