BANK OF E ASIA (00023) has announced a significant senior management appointment, naming experienced banker Mimi Tse as the Head of Commercial Banking. The appointment became effective last week and is expected to significantly enhance the bank's capabilities in the commercial banking services sector. In her new role, Mimi Tse will report to Kelvin Au, General Manager and Head of Wholesale Banking at BANK OF E ASIA, as they collaborate to drive the strategic development of the wholesale banking business. Prior to joining BANK OF E ASIA, Mimi Tse served as the Hong Kong Head of Corporates and Public Sector Coverage at Citibank's Commercial and Corporate Banking division. Earlier in her career, she was a Team Head in the Corporate Banking department at HSBC. She brings over 19 years of experience managing clients in both Mainland China and Hong Kong, with an extensive client network spanning corporate conglomerates, real estate, transportation and logistics, telecommunications, media and technology, and financial sponsors. Market sources indicate that Mimi Tse is the daughter of former Legislative Council member for the Architectural, Surveying, Planning and Landscape sector, Andrew Tse, a background that has also drawn attention from investors and market participants.
